The world has changed for Americans. Young people no longer have the luxuries and comforts of the previous generation, but are reprogrammed at school to show obedience and loyalty to a beneficent government while those who question or rebel have even a greater struggle to survive. Can the few that survived and remember teach them to take back their country and restore creativity and ambition? What happened? An old man recounts his opinion as to why the country was in such a state. Can the first youth reach safety as they are chased up the Miami River by government THUGs. Can they develop a new constitution? Can they win the first war with government forces?

The Day the Wind Stopped Blowing edition by Felix Bearden Liz Bearden Literature Fiction eBooks

The Day The Wind Stopped Blowing is the first book published by my friend, Felix Bearden. It is a fictional account of the time when America as we knew it was transformed into a socialist society where the Government provided everyone with all their needs from cradle to grave. The period of time fictionally occurs from 2010 to 2040. This period of time covered twenty years which were lost to the citizens who had succumbed to the nanny state handling of their lives. Then a small group of citizens through a certain transaction with the government began to rebuild the country. Bearden has captured the rebuilding - describing the difficult time they experienced. The book is small (240 pages) and the story moves very smoothly. I particularly appreciated the technical detail Bearden used to describe the equipment - machines and services rebuilt after the many years of neglect - because of his many years of experience in Technical Industry. I believe you will find The Day The Wind Stopped Blowing an interesting and entertaining read.

This book shows a logical extension of our current Social direction. There are too many people in government who would support the policies that placed the world in this bind.
Our current president declared war on the coal industry in his first month.
